Bracknell RFC Under 13s Set To Kick off 2025

Bracknell RFC Under 13s Set To Kick off 2025

Matt Bond6 Jan - 17:32

This coming Sunday, will see Bracknell RFC’s Under 13 squads take to the pitches in the opening round of the Berkshire Cup.

It will be the first time the teams will face each other, in an official competitive match. A tough fixture is expected and nothing less than a super-strong performance will do, to ensure the spoils of victory go to the boys in green. Bracknell will look to exert dominance in the forward pack, while the backs will hope to use their pace and footwork out wide.

There have been some stand out performances this year in both teams. In the Under 13s, Max Wiley and George Moran both saw a return to fine form in the latest matches, while Freddy Brown showed some silky skills in the fly-half role. Will Baker has been a powerhouse runner, while George Whitbread has become a tackling force. One of the hardest working players this season has been Alfie Gooch, who regularly puts in a massive shift. Kaiden Fulcher and James Foster have each had a great start out on the wings, and surely the later half of the season will see these two get over the try line on multiple occasions. At scrum half, Finnley Bond has been constantly improving, match upon match, while Freddie Cullity has played some of his best rugby being a utility back, slotting into multiple positions. An unfortunate admission from the team will be Braxton Dickinson who has undergone surgery in the off season, leaving regular centre partner, Charlie Gomez-Baker to be the essential ball carrier in the middle of the field.

In the Development Squad, Oscar Heimann has lead from the front, and when combined with the powerful support of Hector Wilman and Sebby Pollard, the team has always found itself going forward with great success. Alex Ali has been a star back, with pace, and balance in attack and a devastating crunching tackle technique in defence. Issac Williams has been a menace at the breakdown, while Benn Staines has carried the ball with purpose on multiple occasions. Hayden Lawson has been a threat with ball in hand and Billy Brumpton has shown how to calmly control the distribution of the ball for the backs. Finley Perryman has been a mainstay of the team, along with Daniel Whiffin, who in the second row, has developed across this season, in an exceptionally good fashion.

With everything already said, the Bracknell Under 13s could do with as much support as possible for the upcoming match. So if you can, get down to Maidenhead RFC and bring your friends and family, and cheer on the Bracknell lads as they give it their all, in search of glory!
