Dear the Bracknell Rugby Club Family,
I’d like to take this time to share some exciting news about our U18s Academy squad and to congratulate a few of our players who have achieved outstanding milestones within our setup.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to Benedict Hinks and Harrison Tipper for their recent trip to Toulouse, France, where they proudly represented Bracknell Rugby Club under the EggChasers banner at the Winter7’s festival. The boys had a fantastic weekend of rugby, competing against strong local French teams as well as international sides. Their performances were outstanding, and they represented both themselves and the club brilliantly. Well done, lads!
On the Academy front at Premiership Level, we are proud to have two of our own making waves in elite environments. Leroy Hove has been selected to play for the Harlequins U18s, while Darren Bold continues his development as part of the Bath U18s squad. Congratulations to both of them for flying the Bracknell flag at the highest level of Academy rugby.
Closer to home, I want to acknowledge the players embracing Bracknell Rugby Club’s growing culture of homegrown talent. We’ve seen an increasing number of Academy players stepping up, with seven players featuring across two senior teams last weekend. A big well done to Jago Afu, Taylor Clyde, Logan Excell, Charlie Humphreys, Joe Summers, Benedict Hinks, and Harrison Tipper for their contributions. Also offering their services have been Danny Jordan and Harry Fairclough. With more players progressing through the ranks, we expect to see even greater Academy integration into our senior squads in the coming weeks.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that helped to reignite this flame that has been missing in recent years, from my coaches to the supportive senior coaches, DoR and safeguarding support staff. Great team effort from all.
Looking ahead, as we approach the end of the season, our focus will shift towards supporting our U16s as they transition into an Academy rugby setup. This will be a step up in their development, and we are excited to help them along their journey.
Additionally, we hope you continue to follow the final stretch of our 1XV and 2XV Academy sides, as they push to finish their seasons strongly. Our 2XV currently sit 2nd in the OBB Division 3 table with some big local teams to play while the 1XV could sneak 4th in Division 1 if they manage to pull off wins against Rams and Oxford Harlequins.
That’s it for now—thank you all for your continued support. Let’s keep driving Bracknell Rugby Club forward, together!
