A Christmas Reflection

As the festive season draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on a fantastic first half of the season for our two teams. It has been a journey filled with hard-fought victories, valuable lessons in defeat, and plenty of moments to celebrate. Our teams have demonstrated remarkable commitment, resilience, and camaraderie, both on and off the field, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved so far.

There have been some memorable fixtures, with standout performances in key games that showcased the talent and determination within our squads. Wins were celebrated with joy, and losses were met with dignity, providing opportunities to learn and grow. Each and every player has given their all, and their hard work has laid a strong foundation for what promises to be an exciting an competitive second half of the season.

Looking ahead, the new year brings a packed schedule of league games and challenges. The road ahead won’t be easy, but we have every confidence in our teams to tackle these head-on. With their determination and teamwork, 2025 could truly be a standout year for our club. Let’s keep building, learning, and pushing forward to achieve great things together.

Special Mentions:
We’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate some remarkable individual achievements from the season so far.

Firstly, a huge congratulations to our Berkshire lads—Samson Hawke, Jago Afu, and Charlie Humphrey—who were selected for the Berkshire Under-18 squad. This is a fantastic accomplishment and a testament to their dedication and talent. We are thrilled to see them representing both our club and their county with pride.

Further afield, we want to shine a spotlight on Harrison Tipper, who had the incredible opportunity to travel to Auckland, New Zealand, to compete in the International Global Sevens Youth Rugby Festival with the Eggchasers team, the only UK team invited. After a week of rigorous training and thrilling matches against teams like America and Australia, Harrison and his team finished 16th out of 32—a tremendous achievement on the global stage. Well done, Harrison!

A special mention also goes to Darren Bold, a player who has long been a key part of our club. Darren’s talent and dedication have seen him progress through the ranks, earning a spot in the Bath Under-18 Academy squad. While his rugby journey has taken him to new heights, including stints with London Irish and Bishops Wandsworth School, Darren remains a cherished member of our club family. We are immensely proud of his achievements and wish him continued success in his academy and professional rugby pursuits. Darren, you’ll always have a place here, and we look forward to seeing you back whenever the time feels right.

A Positive Outlook for 2025

As we close out 2024, we want to thank everyone—players, coaches, parents, and supporters—for their unwavering dedication to the club. It’s your hard work and passion that make this community so special. Let’s carry this positivity and momentum into the new year, taking on every challenge with determination and teamwork.

Here’s to making 2025 a year to remember! Wishing you all a Happy New Year—let’s make it a brilliant one.

Thank you all!
